Pete's love affair with movies began at the young age of four, when his parents let him watch Ghostbusters. The library scene at the beginning scared him so much that he didn't even watch the rest of it. But eventually he did and it became his favorite movie as a kid, even if he still didn't get all the grown-up jokes.
In high school, Pete began writing movie reviews for the school paper, mostly to get out of interviewing people for stories. In college, he developed his appreciation of film while working on his English degree by trying to write, direct, produce and star in a parody of Clerks. It didn't get a good grade, mostly because the teacher hadn't seen the original (lack of technical knowledge on the part of the writer/director/producer/star didn't help).
Pete usually prefers sci-fi and action movies, especially those involving superheroes, giant robots and Jedi Knights. But every once in a while a foreign film or a drama will sneak it's way into his viewing lineup. And as the only member of the Pod People with children, Pete sees more than his fair share of kids' movies.
Pete recently teamed up with Jan to form Mercurium House Productions, which produces the Pod People each week, and is a regular contributor to the podcast.
