Every Thursday in December America’s Pub is going to be hopping with the Midwest DJ Throwdown. Starting at 9 p.m. five different DJs will get a 30-minute set to keep the party going. Each DJ will be judged by three judges based on four criteria:
Mix Ability – the DJs can’t have off beats
Song Selection – diversity in genre
Technique Style – that particular DJ’s distinctive style (scratching, looping beats, echoes, etc.)
DJs Overall Entertainment Value – that “wow factor” to keep it interesting for the crowd
Now if you are into going to clubs and dancing like there’s no tomorrow this would be the perfect month for you because not only are there fantastic DJs from all across the Midwest coming in to throw some sweet beats down, but with the added excitement of winning an all-expenses paid trip to the Kansas City Regional DJ competition for the Red Bull Thre3Style International competition, they should be giving the party all they got!
On top of the throwdown every Thursday night at America’s Pub the DJs coming in to town will be doing some additional shows at different local clubs on Friday nights (including Indigo Night Club, Hero’s, Pumphouse, The Garage Bar, The Caboose and Rock Island Live).
Finishing the competition off on Saturday, January 14 the final five DJs will be competing for prizes.
And did I mention that Red Bull and Smirnoff are sponsoring the Throwdown, so each night of the competition there will be specials.
