Doug McDermott wasn't just good against Wichita State, he was unstoppable. The Bluejays' junior scored a season-high 41 points against the Shockers on Saturday helping lead his team to their first outright Valley regular-season title since 2001.
The Shocks couldn't keep up with the Bluejays' shooting, falling to Creighton 91-79. Wichita State dropped its final two games of the Valley season. Winning the first of those two games would've clinched at least a share of the Valley title for the Shockers; a win on Saturday would've won it outright.
Demetric Williams led Wichita State with 18 points while Carl Hall added 15 and Tekele Cotton 14.
Creighton shot a mind-boggling 70 percent from the field to run the Shockers out of the gym. They also shot over 52 percent from three-point range.
