It's been busy at that Super 8 I-70 Hotel in Salina.  "Tomorrow night and Friday night we were booked with the wrestling tournament, pretty much full," general manager Mike Robinson said.

But some teams, like El-Dorado high school, decided to bump up their reservations to beat the snow.

"As long as we're here we know that if everything does go according to plan and everything takes off we'll be here ready to do that," El Dorado coach Wesley Reynolds said. "Instead of being in a different boat to where we might not have a chance to make it up here."

That means, over the next few days, travelers may not be able to get hotel rooms in Salina to wait out the weather.

"Don't expect to get to Salina and find a decent hotel room or a good hotel room," Robinson said.

Even if travelers get a place to stay Wednesday night, there may not be a room waiting the following few evenings with more of the wrestling crowd coming in to stay in the rooms they've already booked.

"One thing we'll do tonight when the people come in and rent a room, we will make sure they understand that we are only guaranteeing tonight. We can't guarantee tomorrow night at this point in time," Robinson said. "If the roads are bad enough that they can't get out, then generally speaking they are going to be bad enough where the people coming in can't get in. So we may have plenty of cancellations to accommodate them for tomorrow night.

Robinson has one piece of advice for people thinking of braving a trip.

"In this type of weather, safety is the best," Robinson said. "If you don't need to go anywhere, just stay put."
