A man shot inside his El Dorado home early Monday has died from his injuries.
In a press release, the El Dorado Police Department said Trevor Wakefield, 24, died from a gunshot wound to the head at Wesley Medical Center Wednesday morning.
A man and a woman from Wichita have been arrested in connection to the shooting. Montee Iverson, 34, and Mandy Crandall, 29, made their first appearance in Butler County District Court Wednesday. Iverson is charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault and criminal possession of a firearm.
Crandall faces charges of assisting escape of a fugitive. The couple was arrested after a chase that led officers into Cowley County. Iverson remains jailed on $250,000 bond, and Crandall on $100,000 bond.
Charges may be amended as the investigation continues.
