Birds saved from hail storm (Randi Haun - Hays / May 30, 2012) |
(HAYS, Kan.)—
A nest full of baby birds is safe after Wednesday afternoon's thunderstorms.
Eyewitness News viewer Vickie Haun says her daughter Randi took down one of her porch plants as the storms approached. When she did, she found the nest inside.
Randi brought the plant, nest and all, inside so it wouldn't be destroyed by hail.
Careful not to touch the nest or the hatchlings, Randi put the plant back where it was after the storm moved through.
