Wichita police say a concerned friend helped keep a bad situation from getting worse. It all started shortly after 2:00 Wednesday morning in the 1300 block of S. Seneca.
Police say a boyfriend and girlfriend (both 31 years old) left a bar at different times. A mutual friend left a short time later. As she was walking by the couple's home, she heard the two arguing.
Concerned about her friend, she stopped back by around 30 to 45 minutes later to check on them.
Police tell us, when the woman knocked on the door - the boyfriend answered the door, then took off running. The woman went inside and found her friend in a back room with several injuries.
She was taken to the hospital where she is being treated for facial fractures and other injuries.
Police believe the friend interrupted the attack by stopping back by to check on them.
We ask that people do something instead of nothing." said Wichita Police Captain Darrell Atteberry. "We don't ask that people go and personally intervene in a dangerous situation, but to call police to get some help for that victim of domestic violence."
