Cessna Aircraft is giving its workers in Wichita a first look at its new Cessna Citation Latitude plane.
Cessna says the Latitude offers a full fuel payload and a maximum cruise speed of 442 knots. The aircraft comes with a sticker price of $14.9 million.
Cessna first unveiled it earlier this month at the National Businesses Aviation trade show. It's the second new jet that Cessna has announced in the past month.
"We hope that the economy will be on the upswing as this airplane enters service for the aviation industry, and we want to be there when that demand comes back," said Joe Hepburn, Cessna Business Leader.
And as demand comes back, so is faith in the industry and the company. Employees got their first chance to walk through the Latitude on Wednesday and say seeing a product like that gives them pride in what they do."A lot of people, they work on one little part all day for years and years and they've never seen where that part goes. Being able to sit in an actual air craft, or mock-up, it gives them more of a sense to where their hard work is going to," explains Mike Chapman.
