Clouds will be increasing from the south across parts of Kansas tonight. Low temperatures will drop into the teens and low 20s in areas with snow on the ground while other spots will bottom out in the upper 20s to mid 30s.
Clouds will fill in more on Wednesday with rain moving into southern Kansas during the latter part of the afternoon. The rain will spread northward through the night. There may also be some patchy light freezing rain in the west. Morning rain showers will push off to the east on Thursday although clouds will linger. Rain totals of 0.25" to 0.50" are expected generally for southern and eastern Kansas but amounts over 0.50" could be seen in far southern and southeast Kansas. We'll keep our fingers crossed!
The next storm system to affect the area will move in Friday night and continue into Saturday morning. This storm will some light rain changing to snow. At this time snowfall amounts are expected to stay very light. Behind the system, expect much colder weather for the weekend and early next week.
