The chillier weather we have experienced today looks like it will be with us through the weekend. A Frost Advisory is out for northwest Kansas Friday morning as lows dip down to near the freezing mark.
Elsewhere, some scattered light rain showers will be possible late tonight in south central and southeast Kansas. Rain will also be possible Friday over the northwest. Friday's highs will struggle to reach the 40s and 50s! By Friday night and Saturday morning, some light rain mixed with light snow is forecast over far western Kansas. No accumulations are expected. Any precipitation in the east will be in liquid form: more sprinkles and light showers.
Saturday will be a mostly cloudy and cold day as highs again barely reach the 40s and 50s. However, the coldest temperatures of this period will be Saturday night and Sunday morning. A Freeze Watch is out for portions of Kansas as lows will likely fall to the middle 20s in the northwest, with lower to middle 30s elsewhere.
By Sunday afternoon, we should have lots of sunshine once again with temperatures warming for the first couple of days next week. A weak cold front will move across the state late Tuesday with only a slight decrease in temperatures on Wednesday. Thursday looks to be the warmest day of the next seven days.
