Early Monday morning, sprinkles and passing rain showers pushed eastward out of Kansas and after a cool, gray weekend, look for sunshine and warmer temperatures to return to our area by afternoon.
Gusty winds are on the way Monday too and with very low humidity, the fire danger will be very high for much of the state. Afternoon highs will range from 55-60.
The wind will back-off quickly around sunset as an area of high pressure slowly slides into Kansas this evening so expect mostly clear skies and chilly conditions overnight.
Temperatures should be a bit warmer Tuesday under a mostly sunny sky with lighter winds and afternoon highs close to 60.
Our next best bet to get wet will arrive the second half of the week as a storm system moves in from the Rockies.
Rain is likely but some snow could also return to Kansas by Thursday night as colder air gets drawn into the system as it slides by to our south by week's end.
