Think spring when it comes to our Monday weather as afternoon temperatures top out nearly 25 degrees above average meaning a few record highs will be threatened or set as we start the new work and school week.

The low clouds and patchy fog over parts of Kansas early Monday will burn-off quickly and temperatures will soar into the upper-60s and lower-70s by mid-afternoon. Southerly winds will be strong too and could gust up to 35 mph late in the day under a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky.

Monday's big-time warmth will be short-lived however as a potent cold front moves through our area Tuesday ushering in cooler temps as afternoon highs fall back into the 40s and 50s.

Even colder weather is on the way Wednesday and Thursday as highs tumble into the mid to upper-30s.

Other than a few flurries here and there, dry conditions are expected throughout most of our week and into the weekend.
