Mostly sunny to sunny skies are forecast today with highs in the 50s and 60s.  It will be a little breezy around south central and southeast Kansas with gusts over 25 mph at times.

Clouds will begin to gather over the west and southern areas of the state late tonight in response to a storm system that will be near Las Vegas early Friday morning.  As this system moves toward Kansas during the day, it will cause increasing clouds and yes, a chance of light rain Friday afternoon and evening.  Amounts will be generally light, most likely under a quarter of an inch.  A little bit of light snow is possible in the northwest Friday night but little if any accumulation is forecast.

Slightly cooler weather will be on tap for this weekend.
