The day belonged to Kyle Busch, but the victory in the Auto Club 400 belongs to Kevin Harvick.

Busch lead 151 of the 200 laps at the Auto Club speedway on Sunday, but Jimmie Johnson took the lead woth 3 laps to go, just to give up the lead on turn four of the final lap to Harvick. The 29 lead just one lap, the last one but it was all he needed. Busch finished third.

"I can see them growing bigger in the mirror, I could see them coming," said Busch. Those guys were just better.

Harvick, a Bakersfield, California native, finished second to Johnson last season to Johnson, who is also for California. This year though the rolls were reversed. Harvick started the race 24th, but wasnt much of a player during the race. But after the final caution for an accident  involving Bobby Labonte with 12 laps to go, Harvick's car seemed to come to life.

"We had them all beat last year and I gave it away," said Harvick. "We've had a lot of asversity to fight through this year, but we knew we could compete for wins."

"It reminded me of last year, I just couldnt hold him off this time," said Johnson. "I hate losing the lead to him coming off turn four like that."

Matt Kenseth and Ryan Newman rounded out the top 5. Emporia, Kansas native Clint Bowyer had his best finish of the season, bringing the 33 home 7th.

Carl Edwards takes over the points lead, moving up one spot. Ryan Newman slides into second, followed by Kurt and Kyle Busch, and Johnson. Bowyer is up 7 spots to 17th in the standing.
