It was a British invasion in Downtown Wichita Wednesday.Turns out our city will be featured on a new reality series in England called "Chef Race". Its a new series on BBC America, that some say will be a combination of Top Chef and the Amazing Race.

If you drove downtown near Douglas and Broadway, you may have noticed a film crew walking around. They're with BBC America and they're shooting a future episode of the network's newest reality series.

"There is two teams, an American team and a UK team, and they are making food and selling it so they can go on their next journey," said Wichitan Josh Blick.

Blick randomly ran into the team Tuesday and has been helping them every since.

"They asked me and said hey can you help us find a building and a restaurant," Blick said.

The team cooked meals Tuesday and Josh got them permission to sell the food at a building downtown. The chefs also went to nearby businesses to find more customers like Rachel Chinn.

"They came in, I ordered and I realized I had no cash on me," Chinn said. "I said where are you guys at I'll come get it, so I got cash and I came down and I got all three menu items."

The UK team sold shrimp gumbo, a corned beef muffuletta sandwich plus meatloaf and mash.

"I'm a sucker for meatloaf," Chinn said.

The reality show crew wasn't in Wichita long. From here they head to Oklahoma City and then to stops along the east coast

The crew couldn't do an interview on camera, but we know know they started in Los Angles, they're shooting for ten weeks, and the show should air in about five months.

Blick hopes he makes the cut. If not, he says he'll never forget his day with a reality show.

"This is pretty awesome and they are so great, so friendly," Blick said.

By noon, the UK team had sold out of almost every item. But we won't know until the show airs if they won the Wichita leg of the cooking competition.

We never found the U.S. team in Wichita. According to the Boot Hill Casino, the team sold food in Dodge City Tuesday night.
