LOS ANGELES -- Lindsay Lohan's SCRAM bracelet got her in trouble Tuesday after the device detected the presence of alcohol in the actress' system, prompting a judge to issue a bench warrant for her arrest.

The information about Lohan's alcohol use was contained in a report prepared by SCRAM executives and given to Judge Marsha Revel before an unscheduled hearing about Lohan on Tuesday.

Judge Revel met with Lindsay's lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley and deputy district attorney Danette Meyers in chambers before issuing a bench warrant for Lohan, forfeiting her existing bail and setting new bail of $200,000.

The moves came after Lohan's alcohol ankle monitor reportedly went off Sunday night after her appearance at the MTV Movie Awards. She also attended at least one after party.

There were 5 violations, according to the judge.

Lohan sent out several "tweets" on her Twitter page calling the whole thing a "misunderstanding." She said" "My SCRAM wasn't set off. It's physically impossible considering I've done nothing for it to go off. All of these false reports are absolutely wrong. I'm not misguided and the tabloids and press are liars."

Lohan's lawyer issued a statement Tuesday, saying the device indicated the "presence of a small amount of alcohol."

"Having just received the report, I am not in a position to speak to its accuracy or validity, however Ms. Lohan maintains that she has been in complete compliance with all of the terms of her probation and her bail," Chapman Holley said in a statement.

The monitoring company says the device did not malfunction.

Lohan posted bail less than two hours after the hearing, quashing the bench warrant.

The bracelet checks for traces of alcohol in the air above the user's skin. Any effort to tamper with the 10-ounce device immediately sends out an alert. The monitoring company reports to the Los Angeles County Probation Department and the Superior Court judge in Beverly Hills who is hearing Lohan's case.

Judge Marsha Revel ordered Lohan to wear the bracelet following a May 24th hearing and told her not to consume alcohol. If Revel determines a violation has occurred, she could order the immediate revocation of the actress' bail and send Lohan to jail.

The actress has been on probation since August 2007 after pleading guilty to misdemeanor drug charges and no contest to three driving charges.
