A good Samaritan helped a man who lost an envelope filled with more than $6,000 cash Friday at the Poulsbo Library, the Kitsap Sun reported

According to the Sun, an unidentified woman entered the public library, part of the Kitsap Regional Library system, around 10:30 a.m. and came across an unmarked envelope stuffed with cash in the library's foyer.

Instead of scooping up the envelope and slowly walking out the door, the woman took the money to a library staff member. The woman said whoever left the money would probably be upset and want it back, the Sun reported.

About an hour later, a Poulsbo man told library workers that he was looking for an envelope that slipped out of his pocket. The man produced a bank receipt for the money and knew the exact amount in the envelope.

Employees returned the cash to the man, the Sun reported.
