Four of last week’s top-ranked teams retained their spots in the latest Kansas Volleyball Association’s rankings. Gardner-Edgerton, Bishop Miege, St. James Academy and Baileyville B&B remain at the top of their respective classes. That was about the only consistency in this week’s rankings.
The previously unranked Wichita Northwest Lady Grizzlies jumped to the No. 5 spot as Blue Valley North fell from No. 3 last week to ‘Others’ this week. In 5A, Kapaun leapfrogged the third spot as it went from No. 4 to the second-ranked team in the state. Valley Center did hold the No. 2 spot, but a loss to Maize South moved the Lady Hornets down one to No. 3. Newton took over the fifth spot, as it was previously unranked.
Hillsboro is now the top-ranked team in 3A as it was ranked at No. 2. Burlington takes the second spot as Silver Lake was pushed to No. 3.
Previously unranked Ell-Saline and Burlingame now sit at No. 4 and 5 in 2A, as Mission Valley overtook Olpe for the top spot.
