KVA releases week 2 volleyball rankings

Mix and match is the theme in this week’s volleyball rankings as nearly all top five teams remained the same in all classes, just in a different order.

In 5A, Valley Center skipped over the No. 3 spot as it moved from fourth to second. Shawnee Heights and Bishop Carroll both moved into the top five after being previously unranked. Kapaun Mt. Carmel moved up from No. 5 to No. 4.

McPherson remained the No. 2 team in 4A after a huge win over Rose Hill. The Lady Rockets dropped from No. 3 to ‘Others’ with the loss. This allowed Chanute to move up one spot to No. 3 and Topeka Hayden to move from the fifth spot to the fourth.

Nothing remained the same in 3A, as last week’s No. 2 Silver Lake overtook Hillsboro for the top spot. Burlington, Garden Plain and Sedgwick were all unranked last week, but are now Nos. 3, 4 and 5, respectively.
