State champion Garden City dominated the Western Athletic Conference all-conference teams with an astounding 14 wrestlers named between the two teams. Next in line was Great Bend with seven. Dodge City saw three names as Hays and Liberal both placed two wrestlers on the squads.

Hays' Preston Weigel was named as the wrestler of the year for the conference and Garden City's Carlos Prieto was named as the coach of the year in his first year.
