KPCC-FM (89.9) morning show co-host Madeleine Brand is leaving the station and will be replaced by Alex Cohen as the in-studio partner of A Martinez.
Brand announced Friday that she’s leaving the station to pursue other career opportunities. Cohen is a known quantity at KPCC as the station’s anchor for NPR’s “All Things Considered” afternoon news magazine program, and for the half-hour business show “Marketplace.”
"We are very fortunate to have in Alex a co-host with the combination of news judgment, experience and a lively, energetic on-air presence," said Russ Stanton, vice president of content for Southern California Public Radio, which owns KPCC. "She has a range of experience in public broadcasting and journalism that few can match; she is smart, tenacious and insightful."
Cohen and Martinez will inaugurate their new teaming on Monday at 9 a.m.
