NeNe Leakes is engaged — again — to ex-husband Greg Leakes.
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star and "New Normal" cast member broke the news to Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night after the chat-show host teased her with her own tantalizing photos from New Year's Eve, which showed a night of romance (rose petals, Champagne, strawberries and more) and were capped with two cryptic tweets: "My answer was" and "yes."
Fallon managed to get NeNe to spill the question, which turned out to be, "Will you marry me again?"
The two met in 1996, married in 1997 and filed for divorce in 2011 (it was official last April). NeNe started "RHOA" in 2008.
"I am not sure if Greg was ready to see me as his wife out in the forefront, making my own money, doing my own thing," Leakes told "The Talk" last month. "That was very difficult for him and I felt like Greg wasn't doing all the things that he should be doing as a husband, and I decided to divorce Greg."
There was more to it, she said, not getting too specific. "Because I am so vocal, I felt like I was accused of doing something wrong in our relationship ... and actually it wasn't me, to be honest, Greg did something I did not approve of."
Apparently the year and a half apart changed the couple's relationship for the better.
Much better.
