10 years of iPods
In October 2001, Apple introduced iPod, a digital music player with a distinctive white body and headphones. In the 10 years since, the company says it has sold hundreds of millions of the devices.

2001: Apple presents iPod, offering "1,000 songs in your pocket." It uses a hard drive to provide 5 or 10 gigabytes of storage.
2002: The second generation iPod is compatible with Windows and can hold up to 4,000 songs on 10 to 20 gigabytes. |
