A former Cloud Elementary school assistant principal has been charged with one count of aggravated indecent liberties and one count of rape against a 6-year-old.
59-year-old Robert Baker was in court Wednesday morning for a bond appearance. He was informed then of the charges against him.
Baker asked for permission to have visits with his grandchildren, who are minors. The judge granted his request as long as the visits are supervised.
The district initially put Baker on paid administrative leave, but he told the court today he has recently retired.

"While I can understand that you may want more information, I can assure you that our actions since this report first emerged," says Amber Gutierrez. Reading a letter, Amber Gutierrez still can't believe it.
"This does not make me feel safe to send my child to school." Gutierrez's son is in kindergarten at Cloud Elementary School.
The letter from the principal, informs parents that "two weeks ago, an allegation of misconduct with a child was made to the Wichita Police Department."
"It did not at all satisfy me in any way that I know anything that is going on, this piece of paper does not satisfy me at all," says Gutierrez.
Eyewitness News told Gutierrez the staff member is Assistant Principal Robert Baker. Baker has been with the Wichita School District for 35 years.
He was arrested Wednesday, accused of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child. Baker is now on administrative leave.
His arrest came after a two week investigation. "Two weeks to let elementary parents know that this is going on in their school is way too long," says Gutierrez.
The school district says revealing the information earlier would have interrupted the investigation.
For now, Gutierrez plans to talk with her son. She says arming him with knowledge is the only way to keep him safe.
"We've had the good touch, bad touch discussion before but we're going to do it again, says Gutierrez.
