An official with the Wilson County Sheriff's office says the victim was Tanner Kahler and the 14-year-old boy is his step brother. The accidential shooting happend at the victim's mother's house.
The Wilson County sheriff says he is not pursuing criminal charges against anyone, including the gun owner, at this time.
A 12-year-old boy is shot and killed, and investigators say it was an accident.
The shooting happened at a rural home in Wilson County. The sheriff tells Eyewitness News two boys were involved - the 12-year-old and a 14-year-old.
The sheriff is investigating the shooting as an apparent accident but didn't have other information.
The boy was pronounced dead at the Fredonia Regional Hospital.
