The Wichita Police Department names Captain Darren Moore as Interim Deputy Chief of the department's Field Services Division. Most recently he was the commander of the Professional Standards Bureau.
Moore is filling the position vacated by Deputy Chief Robert Lee when he retired March 19, 2009. Moore's appointment is effective on March 21, 2009.
Moore has been with WPD since 1981.
